Hello kiddies, got some new shows to announce. Our show at Pianos is coming up in a week. We are playing with an awesome soul singer type named Black Joe Lewis, very much looking forward to watching him perform. We now have our first ever show in Philadelphia confirmed for April 11th. And lastly, we have a show at the Annex on April 20th with Quiet Loudly, who have recently released a new record with some fantastic songs (check out "Lift This Mountain" on their myspace), Firepony (formerly known as Waving), a great band with whom we've shared bills numerous times, and other cool folks. Info is at the bottom of the post and also on the shows page.
Also, for show-and-tell, I would like to show a picture that my brother sent me, a picture of this awesome clay creature called a Muu-Muu, which he made for his animation class in school. Behold his glorious creation.

Oh man I can't wait to see this animation completed. My brother and I dream of making a stop-motion film some day, which is the impetus behind him taking this class at school. He and I recently collaborated on a 120-page+ script entitled "A Boy and His Snowman". The script was based off a story I wrote in college about a boy who dreams of having a snow friend like Frosty the Snowman. He finds an ancient helmet with magical powers, and brings a snowman to life, but is sorely disappointed when the snowman is an asshole to him. Eventually they bond after being attacked by an army of snow zombies. My brother wrote the script, and I offered comments and ideas. The Muu-Muu has nothing to do with that script, it is only the glorious first sign of more claymation to come.
I have a serious soft spot for claymation - everyone loves Wallace and Gromit obviously, but I especially love this computer game called The Neverhood. Does anyone know this game? It's a very mysterious yet wacky game designed by the guy who created Earthworm Jim. Here's a cool video from a cutscene here. The story is a lot better than Coraline, that's for sure. Coraline would probably have worked better as a video game.
