Live Pics, Funny Money Pics, All Kindsa Stuff

It's a Friday afternoon, kind of cold outside, and I'm not working today, so I was thinking that it was just about time for me to update the MiniBoone blog.

MiniBoone's had a lot on our docket the past few weeks. Recently we've been updating our Facebook page more often than the blog. We've got this great official URL for it now which I am just so excited about! Hee hee! You can now go read it at http://www.facebook.com/miniboone. Go check it out for some nice little presents and nuggets of wisdom from us.

Let's see, what else... We spent an afternoon last weekend taking photos with Marielle (my betrothed) in James's neighborhood. We got some pretty awesome promo shots and a lot of shots of us trying to figure out cool stuff to do. But we got one picture that is truly a cut above the rest. Check it out!

We're also really excited about CMJ next week. Yeah! We've got two shows at the moment: 10/21 Weds at the Charleston at midnight, and an early 7:00 pm show on 10/22 Thurs at Otto's Shrunken Head. More details can be found at our myspace page, of which the URL has recently changed for the better: http://www.myspace.com/minibooneband.

I've been RSVPing this morning for a whole buncha cool shows at CMJ. Actually since I have no taste in music my band members have had to tell me where all the cool shows are supposed to be. By the way I'm really digging this band Washed Out this morning. Reminds me of my days in Malibu, sipping martinis with scantily clad sun-dappled women... however they are not playing at CMJ. But we are.

Jesse Cannon's hard at work on producing the final mixes for our EP... damn it sounds good! Makes me go crazy! We'll have a few songs available at our CMJ shows but you'll have to wait for the final mastered version of all 6 songs once we're ready for our EP release party. Which is nonexistent at this point but will exist soon. Also Andrew Neher from greatmiddlewest.com will be doing the art and what we've seen so far looks really cool. The thing will be called "Big Changes".

After that, we're planning to apply for South by Southwest... James and I got a new distortion pedal and guitar speaker... we're having band meetings, band dinners, band lovin'... I saw Toy Story 1 & 2 in 3-D and it was awesome... I'm really digging this new Batman video game I'm borrowing... I'm starting work on a soundtrack for my brother's senior thesis film at film school which is entitled "Megabot: The Ultimate Z-Bot Warrior"... and all sorts of other things.

And finally, I recently uploaded to Facebook a whole buncha cool pics from our recent shows at Cameo Gallery, Spike Hill, and Trash Bar (Dean Rispler's Rock n Roll Birthday!!). Here are some highlights! All photos by Marielle Solan. More at facebook.com/miniboone! facebook.com/miniboone! facebook.com/miniboone! Enjoy!
