Break Yourself: Shows of September (MiniBoone)

Since you last heard from us, Craig got hitched, and Taylor got his arm all injured. "Oh damn," you may say. "Marriage is an outdated idea that will certainly mean nothing but a future of repression, needless compromise and fiscal anxiety for Craig. And in the case of Taylor, he is injured and that is terrible. Will he ever play the drums again?"

Just stop. Everything's fine. As far as I know, Craig is perfectly happy with the future he has laid out for himself with his lady wife and does not in fact have such bleak prospects as you may assume. It ain't that kinda thing.

As for Taylor, yes he was hurt. But! The arm that was wounded will soon be healed. We were on pins and needles for a hot minute there, but word on the street is that he'll be back in fighting trim for the run of shows we've got lined up for the next couple months.

Oh right, the shows! You don't know about the shows. Well we've got a bunch of em lined up. Check them the hell out!

[ed. Also, Taylor got a robotic arm.]

  • - Friday the 3rd @ Pianos - The Pop Tarts Suck Toasted Relaunch Party w/ Ava Luna

This is gonna be sweet! The illustrious Patrick Duffy is reviving his life as a blogger, jumping off that ledge again into the vast world of telling people what music to listen to and we're very pleased that he's asked us to come and help celebrate/kick things off. Ava Luna is on the bill, too, which is awesome. They're our favorite band ever (well maybe not but still).

  • - Friday the 10th @ Cameo - The "Winter Variations" EP Release

Our friends in Pet Ghost Project are releasing a new EP soon, and invited us to play at the release party. We said, "let us think about it just kidding of course we'll play, you jerk!" Quiet Loudly and Gunfight!, two bands of men (and I mean that as a compliment) will also play. This will be fun, and more importantly: IT. WILL. BE. EDUCATIONAL.

  • - Saturday the 11th in New London, CT Somewhere - The I AM Festival

Well - they haven't posted this on their site yet, so I guess you heard it here first. We'll be playing something called the I AM Festival in New London which is very exciting. Why? Well, damn, ok. First, it's in New London, CT (which stands for Connecticut). So there's that. Plus, the lineup is looking pretty bawse. Mates of State? We Are Scientists? Sounds like come for MiniBoone stay for bands that are famous for being really good. More details to come.

  • - Saturday the 18th @ Spike Hill w/ Coyote Eyes & more

Spike Hill has always been good to us, and they've put together a nice bill here. I caught Coyote Eyes at their EP fundraising benefit a few weeks ago, and they did one of the most spiritually faithful Nirvana covers I've ever seen. So that bodes well. Also Shark?.

  • - Tuesday the 21st @ the Mercury Lounge

This will be the first time MiniBoone steps into Mercury Lounge as a five man unit, which basically means that it will be the first time we make the audience there cry tears of surprise at the wonderfulness. It's a rare "before 8pm" show (7:30), so look forward to this, people.

That's that. More news to come, as always. Check the Facebook often for the most latest. We live there whenever we're not living here.

Yours in perpetuity,

_Doug
